All hail the Kaiser of the fashion world, Karl Lagerfeld for always keeping the public drooling on what his next creative vision will be. If anyone has seen the theatrics of a Chanel Cruise Show (or any Chanel fashion show for that matter), then you can understand why we love the 2011 Cruise Collection. Set by the waterfront of the French Riviera resort of St. Tropez, the collection was an ode to the spirit of being young. Lagerfeld chose this location also as a result of the hedonistic and youthful spirit of the town, as well as its romantic scenery. The pieces for this Cruise collection were based on the psychedelic prints and chiffon fabrics that flowed freely. The visions of a young Brigitte Bardot frolicking on the French Riviera came to the mind as the models walked out of the yachts and into the pier.

In anticipation for the show, Lagerfeld also released a short movie called "Remember Now." The mini-film features an assortment of models that include Elisa Sednaoui, Heidi Mount, Magdalena Frackowiak, Freja Beha Erichsen, Abbey Lee-Kershaw, Georgia May Jagger, and Baptiste Giabiconi among others. The film captures the hedonistic spirit of the Riviera in such a way that the models look like they have been wired on disco dust with all the revelry around them. We can both cosign that the Riviera parties looks better than any party in any nightclub in New York (not even the Boom Boom Room can come close to this!) Once again, Lagerfeld's creative vision impresses the most jaded of fashionistas.
