This morning the fashion world woke up to news of the passing of another legendary fashion icon of our times, Alexander McQueen, known to his close friends as "Lee." He passed away at the age of 40, at a point of his designing career which may be described as the apex of his career. The British designer, who was labeled by the press during his early career in the 90s as "L'Enfant Terrible of British Fashion" was critically acclaimed for his shock tactics and clothing design that was a statement on the surreal and self-referential world of fashion. His collection for Spring/Summer 2010 featured models walking in 12 inch heels later made famous by Lady Gaga in her "Bad Romance" video. His family is in our thoughts at this difficult time.
