According to reports from British newspaper The Telegraph, Gareth Pugh has been named by PPR as the front runner for the role of creative director for Alexander McQueen. The debate begins if this is a wise move on their part, being that Alexander McQueen was brilliant at creating garments that were finely tailored to the body, a skill he picked up from his days as a costume designer. Another major issue is the fact that Gareth Pugh has never used color in his collections. Will Pugh have the ability to capture the creativity of McQueen, and make it his own? It will be interesting to see how Pugh's aesthetics change in pursuit of recapturing the rebellious spirit that Alexander McQueen had.
